Shea Carley is a multidisciplinary artist based in Far West Texas. Through a site-responsive and research-driven practice collaborating with locally foraged natural materials and light sensitive surfaces, Shea’s work looks beyond human-centered delineations of place and time and imagines new paradigms in human to more-than-human relationships for a more hopeful ecological future.
Shea received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Texas, an MLA in Art, Conservation Biology & Communication from Sul Ross State University, and is an MFA candidate in Visual Studies at Pacific Northwest College of Art. Shea currently teaches analog photography courses at Sul Ross State University.
